Conference Spotlight: Child Refugees And Asylum Seekers
Abstract submissions are invited for the annual Researchers for Asylum Seekers (RAS) Conference
Where: Gryphon Gallery, 1888 Building, University of Melbourne
When: Thursday 17th November 2016, 9am-5pm.
The conference is intended to accommodate postgraduate researchers – past and present – as well as practitioners and policy makers/advisors working in the field. Proposals concerning this year’s conference spotlight on child refugees and asylum seekers are sought in addition to abstracts addressing any aspects of refugee and asylum seeker experiences and policies. Submissions from all disciplinary background are welcome as are papers reporting on work in progress.
Two different formats will be in operation at this year’s conference:
- 20 minute oral presentation (15 minutes + 5 minutes question time)
- 5 minute oral presentation (expected to particularly suit those wishing to provide a quick snapshot of their work and presentations of research still in the early stages of a project)
Abstract submissions of 150-250 words (accompanied by a brief biography of 50 words or less) are requested before 5th October 2016 for either format. Please state your preference for a 20 minute or 5 minute presentation at the time of submission but note that presentation times may be limited by the organisers depending on the time available.
Abstracts and author biographies will be published in the conference program and on the RAS website.
