RAS Conference: Extended deadline for submissions & reminder
The next Researchers for Asylum Seekers Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Conference is fast approaching (November 17) and we are extending the deadline for submitting an abstract to present until October 19. We strongly encourage postgraduate researchers – past and present – as well as practitioners in the field to take up this opportunity to share your work in a friendly and informal environment.
In brief, the conference will be held on Thursday November 17 from 9am-5pm at the Gryphon Gallery, 1888 Building, University of Melbourne. Its spotlight is “Child Refugees and Asylum Seekers” but we are also accepting submissions on other topics related to asylum seekers and refugees, from all disciplinary backgrounds. Oral presentation formats of 20 minutes (15 + question time) or 5 minutes (quick snapshots, potentially of work in its early stages) are available.
If you wish to present, and have not submitted yet, please send an abstract of 150-250 words (accompanied by a brief biography of 50 words or less) by 19th October 2015 to Dr Karen Block (keblock@unimelb.edu.au) and state your preference for the 20 minute or 5 minute format. Abstracts and author biographies will be published in the conference program and on the RAS website.
